I just got a FuelBelt Helium 4 bottle type.  I put Infinit in 3 of them (24 oz) and water in the 4th.  During my 90 min run yesterday i went through most of the infinit.

Still trying to decide if I'm going this route for IM MOO or NOT.

Dan, concentrate and squirt a little in ice water at the aid stations. You can get 4-500 cho per bottle. It is so easy. I have 4 bottles in special needs just in case. I just cannot tolerate the sweet stuff late in a race. Even unflavored gels make me gag.

Helpful hint. Most of our customers use a high calorie formula with some protein for trainng and the bike.
They then have a second formula with NO protein and some caffeine for the run. The lighter mix processes very quickly and the caffeine gives you a nice bump when you need it. This same formula works great for sprint races and also for running events when you are maxing your HR.
Between those two formulas you have 99% or your races covered.

I have a fuel belt with 4 flasks but usually use only 2 (except for really long distance runs say 12+ miles). I fill one flask with sports drink and the other with water. I also have a small pouch/pocket on the belt that I throw a gel in. It works out pretty well.

Other than that, I don't really use a belt. If the run is over 7 then yes, but less than 7 and I'm flying solo. I don't like all the extra weight.

Hope this helps.

baldmanrunning - 2008-08-22 10:32 AM I have the amphipod with 4 bottles, 8 oz each. I fill 3 with regular-strength Gatorade, and one with water to wash down gels. I carry 2-3 GU in the little pouch, not in a flask. I also sometimes will have my cell phone or digital camera in the pouch, depending on the occasion.

x2, exactly.  If it's a long run and it's hot, I stop at the gas station and refill with water, or loop home and refill with the original 3 gatorade and 1 water (waiting in a cooler on the front steps).

Nothing much anymore as I haven't used either of mine in about a year and a half ...... just haven't had a need to between racing course supported or doing long training runs on a loop where I can leave gels/drinks in one location and just stop to take in stuff on each lap.

My 4 and 6 bottle Fuel Belts aer just sitting in my bottom drawer gathering dust.

We have a "Pay it Forward" thread in the Classified Forum, where I'm sure you could find someone who would gladly put them to use.
