I feel like a 5yr old waiting for Santa. It has been months of training and years of dreaming of becoming an IRONMAN and now it is payday beotches.....It's time to carbo load and hydrate, the weather forcast, if it means anything, looks good.

How much did everyone train this past week? I only had 6hrs out of a planned 8 but I feel great. Today was a 2hr ride, I averaged 18.8mph on a Michigan "hilly" course. The legs.....MONEY.

7 days and counting

I'm ready!

An ironman is akin to a grand vacation adventure.  That is, they are planned with great anticipation, experienced with some discomfort and remembered with wonderful fondness.

The anxiety and anticipation with continue to grow and grow...and will peak when they play the National Anthem before the race.  Not until I hit the water and start swimming will my nerves settle down.

I had a sore throat on Thursday night so I took Friday & Saturday off. Better to be sick this week then next week. I missed a 7 mile run & 25 bike on Firday. My training plan was 7/25 Friday and 7m on Sat and 30m bike on Sunday.

I did the 7m on Sunday and I'm doing the 30m today. I realized that my race plan has race day on Saturday to that gave me an extra day to play with.

I hated missing a work out this close to the race but i needed to get better and rest.

This week is nothing

800m swim
6m bike
20 run

I can't believe it's here!!!

My taper week has been less that stellar.

Rain kept me off my bike. Knee pain hasn't gone away.
I rode on Saturday and felt like @ss riding hills, but great on the flatst. Quads were very sore after a 40 mile ride.

Ran Sunday and hurt my knee even more.

I'm trying to stay positive though. Just going to grind it out on race day. Will stick to my plan and stay on top of my nutrition. Even if I'm a slow turtle popping Tylenol all day, I should finish in under 17 hours.

I will be really glad when Thursday gets here and I can enjoy being off work for a few days.  A couple of big projects have popped up at the wrong time and keeping my stress level at Orange-Elevated.  Plus I have noticed that Ive gained almost 8 pounds in the last 3 weeks since the taper started!!!

Other than that, the Zipp 808s are installed and ride like a dream. Im almost done with all of my pre race planning down to the n-th level of OCD detail.  Im pretty darn excited about the whole weekend, proud of myself for getting in all most of the workouts.  Rest, relax, visualize, confidence .... YOU WILL DO THIS!!!
