Iron Donkey 38643       , Wisconsin |  Subject: IM Moo volunteer '09 priority signup information...The following information was received from my volunteer lead. I would recommend still getting there before 9:00 a.m.: "For those volunteers who will be signing up for Ironman Wisconsin 09, here is the procedure: 2009 registration begins at 9:00 Am on Monday morning. You must present your volunteer t-shirt and/or wristband (still intact) as well as provide photo ID to be granted access to a seperate line. This priority line will be the first to go through the registration process." |

I did finally get an email today from the run marshall lead and she mentioned that there would be priority for volunteers and that more would come on that next week. I'm so relieved to hear this! I've actually started worrying about not getting a spot after flying out, staying 9 days and volunteering. Yes, I have serious problems! I'm arriving in Madison tomorrow. Can't wait! |

"Saturday there will be an opportunity for volunteers wishing to participate in the race in 2009 to register – more on that later." The above sentence was in my information from my volunteer captain for registration. Of course, there was no "more on that later" in the email. It seems as though different information is being presented for those who may want to sign up for 2009. Just thought I would share this in case it might be accurate. Tracy |

Tracy The material 1stTimeTri is quoting came straight from the runner's guide. I'd consider that gospel. The 2008 racers have the ability to register on Saturday, also a quote from the Racer's guide. Perhaps that is the source of the confusion. |

Expert 1091 Madison | Subject: RE: IM Moo volunteer '09 priority signup information... I'm volunteering too and haven't heard anything. I emailed them and only got that there would be a volunteer information email later. Then nothing else. We shall see if I hear anything this week.

Does anyone know where I can get this information at this late date? I believe most of the spots left would be as either bike or run marshals (directing athletes) and at aid stations. Even if you hit the volunteer button, you can always change it. |
