Pre-race routine:

drove to the venue - about 40 minutes. Parking was remote, and the coffee I drank en route had hit - no bathroom at the parking and NO SHUTTLE in sight! waited for 5 minutes, then got nervous about missing the race - I was 2 miles from the race start and 15 minutes until it was supposed to start.

So I started running to the park, about half way the volunteer who was manning the parking gave me a lift and told me they were going to hold the start a few minutes(guess I was not the only one). ran straight to the porty potty line. phew.
Event warmup:

see above. and drank water, stretched

Comments:

this was fun and muddy. beginning was tough - went off to the side to try to pass people so I could get on a pace. Passed tons of people on the downhills (just like on the bike ;-) and maintained or got passed on some uphills. I had started towards the back and moved to the middle during the race. I probably went out a bit hard but it was fun
What would you do differently?:

start further up.
Post race
Warm down:

drank water, ate a banana, walked around, schmoozed with BTT folks

What limited your ability to perform faster:

uhm I am not a runner?

Event comments:

I was doing it as a training run for Boston Half to get some hill work and that was fine.

Course: trail through the woods not too technical. Lots of mud and puddles due to Hannah. the funny part was watching all the women who avoided the mud!

Great race.  I'm jealous of running through the mud.  Must have been a blast!

Stompin through puddles is always run

I think one of my team mates also did this race but I am not positive. (She was planning on doing an 8k XC Trail Race this weekend and lives in your area)

But, you know you cannot say "I am not a Runner". Non-Runners do not get up on Sunday morning and do 8k Races and certainly do not enjoy puddle jumping

Sounds like a great race to me
