Run
Comments: My plan was to run this at HIM pace - 8'/mile - and use this race as a training race for Longhorn. However, once I got going I couldn't resist picking up the pace. The weather was great for running. So, after the first mile I ran hard and decided to negative split the rest of the run. This race is a 10k PR for me. What would you do differently?: If I were to race this full out from the start I would make sure to warm up properly. Post race
Warm down: Jogged/walked back to the car to grab the camera so I could take pics of Michele. Event comments: This is my favorite running race. The post race party is awesome - band, food, stroll around the arboretum. Fantastic race venue and a beautiful course. I'd like to run the 20k some day (there is a 10k and a 20k race). The usual. Up at 4:30. Breakfast - Ensure, cliff bar, oj, coffee.
Michele and I drove to the Arboretum. Arrived early because parking can be congested and we didn't want to use the shuttle busses. So parked at Winfrey point. Sat back and caught a nap in the car while waiting for sunrise.
None. I didn't plan to run hard so didn't warmup. I did some dynamic stretching.
