Pre-race routine:

I got up at 4:45am...ate a banana, pb mini bagel and coffee...left house at 5:45am....drove downtown and parked where I usually park....I really need to find a closer spot for these Philly races....walked to the race start
Event warmup:

I got in line for the port-a-potty as soon as I got to the race area....then I ate another banana and drank some water...then I got in line again....then I got in line again....my last 2 races I had to go tothe bathroom on the course, so I was determined to avoid that again....then I finally crammed into the corral...

Comments:

It was an absolutely beautiful day...I felt great, except for my left foot....the ball of my foot was hurting from very early in the race....I ran through it until the 10k mark...then I took off my shoe and put on some biofreeze....that helped alot, but it was a little weird running on a numbed foot...it only lasted about 3 miles and I had to repeat...good thing I didn't throw away the package...I put the rest on my foot and finished....I am very happy with my time...I figure I lost about 5 min with the shoes on and off thing!
What would you do differently?:

cut off my foot??!!
Post race
Warm down:

I walked through the shoot and got my food, medal,etc....then I stood in line for some Starbucks coffee and oatmeal....then I watched some people finish while I ate my oatmeal...walk to the car

What limited your ability to perform faster:

left foot

Event comments:

I love PDR!

Great job! I personally loved the addition of Cytomax to the course as a beverage choice....didn't see the oatmeal...

way to hang in there and finish!

Ditto on the Cytomax. Better than that awful fruit punch Accelerade last year. Argh.
I love the biofreeze idea. Thanks. I think your time was amazing! Congratulations. I was around 3:30. Oh well.
