Warm down: After the race, we hung out with Dave's family and ate everything in sight. Loaded the gear and dogs back in the cars, thanked Kari for again being the BEST Sherpa ever. She was everywhere taking pictures and yelling at us to move faster! She was even keeping stats as to where we we in the pack. After getting back to the Chalet we got cleaned up, jumped into the hot tub and started drinking. We sauntered over to the Alpine Resort for the MOMAR after party and dinner. As usual I won NOTHING at all but the prizes were fun and it was fun to chat with some of the groups that we raced against during the day. As per usual there was some drinking involved prior to the race. I was also in the hottub relaxing the night before. We all drove to the Island on Friday morning, and took our time getting to the Comox valley. Nice and relaxing day
No real warm up. We got up early, had some coffee and light breakfast and drove the 30 minutes to the race start. Arrived in plenty of time to get the kayaks set up, drop off the bikes and get mentally preped for the long day ahead.
