Swim
Comments: Event was Run, Bike, Swim Six laps in YMCA 25 yard pool. Didn't have much energy for swim. Transition 1
Comments: Event was run, bike, swim. Ran from bike transition putting on goggles and nose clip. Jumped in pool. What would you do differently?: Take off race belt before jumping in pool. Bike
Comments: Flat course. Recent rains caused some slickness and a huge puddle to slow down for on one of the corners. Transition 2
Comments: Event was run, bike, swim. Run
Post race
Warm down: Walked around. Ate. What limited your ability to perform faster: Being sick during the week. Not eating do to lack of appetite. Event comments: Flat, fast course. Times were an improvement over last year's races. Didn't have a lot of energy due to recent illness and figure the flats and lower altitude were the major influence on my times. Exceeded my goal; finished 10 minutes faster than planned. I would recommend this race to new and first time triers. Event also featured a kids race and Duathlon. Very family oriented. Spent week dealing with a stomach bug.
On Friday, drove half a day to Phoenix. Room was cancelled, Hotel reportedly notified Expedia previous day of incident causing partial closure. Expedia failed to notify or reaccomidate customers. Finally found another room.
Saturday: picked up race packets, took the Mrs. to the Outlet mall, resumed battle with stomach bug, gave bikes final check-over.
Sunday: feeling alright, eat a McGriddle, drove to race sight.
Light jogging and some stretching.
