Subject: New Bike

 

Got my new bike a few days ago.

¨       Trek SLR 1500

¨       105 shifters, Crank, Front derailer

¨       Ultegra Rear Derailer

¨       Bontrager, Elite wheels & Tires

¨       Bontrager carbon fork, carbon seat post & seat

¨       Cane Creek Brakes

¨       Profile Jammer GT clip on's

¨       Trek Incite 8I computer

¨       Shimano A520 SPD pedals (not installed yet, my shoes are not here).

¨       Shimano SH-R300 quick shoes

I purchased some red bar tape, do you think the jammers would look good with red, or should I use black tape?

IMO the tape on jammers and the drops should match, so if you're gonna red the jammers, then red the drops as well. 

IMO black looks better than red, but white actually looks best, but is harder to keep clean.

Congrats on your latest bike purchase - hope it's not your last!

I think red on the jammers and leave the drops black. I do agree that white would look best.

It'll be very hard to find a red tape that matches just right--better to stick with white or black. Most red bar tape looks almost pink.

or you could even use a "splash" pattern tape with either red/black or red/white/black:

Nice Bike!!  I have bar tape in the red/black/white pattern as above- I personally think it looks pretty cool and I can find my bike super fast in transition!
