Subject: Hello From Colorado
Hi to all you inspiring people,

A month and a half ago my Sister-in-law called to invite me to sign up for the Danskin Triathlon, July 17th in Denver. Since she has a new baby, only knows how to breast stroke and is one of my very favorite people, I couldn't possibly say, "no, I can't do that." Besides I have to fight like a tiger to get myself off the couch in February, so ANY motivation is welcome. I asked my friends who asked their friends and now there is a group of us training for this race. Unfortanately they all live in the Denver area, and I live on the other side of the mountains, so I'm on my own training.

In High School I ran track, cross-country and Nordic raced. I was a big fish in a very small puddle. Since then I've struggled to maintain an active lifestyle and it has been one heck of a long time since I've actually trained. I've never had to fight weight but man-oh-man do I have to fight my attitude; I'm a much nicer person if I get out and get some exercise and the more I need it the harder it is to do.

I've been visiting this site for awhile and it sure has wonderful information (One of the friend's, friend's mothers found it). I'm still figuring out how to use the log etc.

Anyhow glad to be here -Annie

Annie,Hello right back at you from Colorado. I'm in Colorado Springs and I'm also doing the Danskin triathlon in Denver.Whoo Hoo!Welcome aboard! You will find that this is a great site and you can find loads of wonderful and interesting information here. I've never been to Snow Mass so once the weather gets nice if you need a training partner I'd be happy to hop on up there and work out with you.My "best" event is swimming, I'm not very fast but I definitely can do the distance and more. I just literally started running four weeks ago. And the bike, well, it's just like riding a bike right? Anyway, nice to have you on board. I'm also a born motivator (was a cheerleader in H.S.) so if you need someone to cheer you on count on me.Good luck and happy training days.Ovetta.

Welcome Annie,

Looks like you need to recruit some Danskinners in Snowmass, too.  If you can't find any, you will always have this bunch to support you.  Using the logs to write down the day's efforts for all the world to see and knowing that a few team members are probably reading it may keep you off the couch on those days when motivation lags.

Post early.  Post often.
