I was wondering what kind of training I could do to help with swimming since the town I live in does not have an indoor pool. I know it wouldn't be perfect but hopefully help.

Weights and drylands that simulate the strokes. If you want to spend money, go get a Vasa Trainer.

If the outdoor pools are heated, go with it.

It's fun swimming in all the steam!

If you have access to a lake or outdoor pools, go with your wetsuit if you have one. Not as good as training without, but much better than not swimming. Just make sure to use LOTS of Body Glide or other non petroleum product around your neck and arm pits.

In chat last night with coach AJ from D3 he talked about a swim trainer? Halo? that is about $400 that he is doing a review on and will be posted here on BT soon. I might have the name wrong but look for the review...way cheaper than other trainer.
