y'know.. maybe its me.. but how do you cover an entire IM in 1 hr. of TV .. which is like only 47 mins with commercials.. and with all the extra yakking that the hosts do and the extra "human interest" stories .. so again I ask, how do they cover an entire IM in 32 mins ?

Oppenheimer, on his best day, couldn't figure out how to get his DVR to do that.

Thats easy you show about 10 min of the swim (the first 2 min maybe the leaders at the turn for a few minutes a few minutes of the men and women coming out of the water... that leaves 2 min for any passes that might happen, or to show slow people coming out of the water).

Bike -- leaders leaving again maybe 2 min. 2 min of solo riders, 1 min of all the passes that happen at the front. 1 min leaders coming in. (thats 6 min)

Run -- 2 min leaders leaving 30 sec for passes 5 min of the finishes.(7 min 30 sec)

Total time 23 min 30 sec. and what do I do with the remaining 8 min 30sec???

Of course if you DVR the football then watch only the plays you can see the entire game in about 45 mins.

Good point--but would you really want to watch an entire tri on TV?

Most of the triathlons I've watched on TV have actually been rather boring.  The one exception is Kona--I think they do an awesome job with the show, mainly because of a good mix of covering the pros and telling the stories of some of the age groupers.

I don't get Versus, which makes it an easy choice. Plus, I have a "vested interest" in the NFL regular season games...

Get DirecTV with dual LNBs.  You can watch one and record the other or watch a recorded show and record both live shows.

I'll be sitting in the endzone at a Vikes game. Normally I'll take the Tri since there is so little coverage.

Yea i agree, watching tv for more then 1 hour gets really boring.  When I used to drink and bet on games my buddies and I would make an entire day of watching the NFL.  Now I get bored after 30 minutes not to mention the fact that theres commercials every 3-9 minutes which is soo annoying.  I hate tv for the most part.  Unless its the best of the best (playoffs - championships) Baseball = most boring. Unless its the Rays in the world series.   GO RAYS
