Okay, so...I had a short ride this morning and I rode the first part of the course...from Tempe Town Lake to Beeline.

HOLY CRAP.  That scared me!  Talk about a NOT bike friendly ride!  Four lane roads with no shoudler and fast traffic!

HELP!  I'd like to ride the Beeline part for my longer ride this week (about 4 hours) because it seemed to have a decent shoulder.  But is there a better, more bike friendly way to get there from Tempe Town Lake?

What part was so bad? If you follow the course, there should be shoulder/lane along most of it.

From Tempe Town lake take RioSalado to McClintock turn left (North). There will be bike lane right after you cross the bridge. Take that to McDowell. Take a right (East) on McDowell it will have a bike lane to the BeeLine. Then just turn left and you are on your way. I will ride it Thursday if you need the company. I also can tell you more at Four Peaks Manana.
