had athletics training at school, did 5k. went to penrith lakes and did an open water swim but the water was really hot in some spots and and really cold in others (somethin like a hot bath with ice cubes in it)... muscles didnt like that too much so i only did 500m

A much needed rest day. Only 3 weeks away from the BIG day. No, not my first tri, my wedding. I have to put the finishing touches on the ceremony & other details. BTW, I did register for my first tri! It's a sprint event on June 27th. I also signed up for a 10k run in late April.

Have a good one & happy training!

Congrats on the upcoming wedding, madmedic! I swam 3100 yds this morning, kept up the pace in the fast lane and had lots of energy. Will probably go back to the gym after work today for a bike ride during the Ellen show!

40 min bike ride and then came the swim! Today was my first time swimming ever! well, for fitness that is. I use to swim all the time up at the lake with some beers and hot dogs. Boy, what an eye opener! I have a whole new respect for swimmers! This is going to be alot harder than i thought. wish me luck all! Jack. oh yea.. only lasted 12 minutes for a grand total of around 192 yards! i guess i have to start some place.

Jay,Way to go on the swim! Woo Hoo you're cooking now. Brand new pool and all that's awesome. Keep it up, it can only get better. At least that's what I'm praying for on the run.2 mile run - Ran NINE minutes w/o stopping over .5 a mile. That felt good. I'm cooking now. Then 15 min bike, 4.12 miles then 800 m swim 19 min 32 sec. Was slow in the pool today, felt like I was swimming in whole milk. I even stopped on a lap and looked at the water to see if it was white! The pool was EIGHTY-THREE FRIGGIN' DEGREES. What is that about????!!!! Uggh. My swimming cap came off at least 3 times. Comedy of errors all around! Trying a new stroke technique that is really helping my speed. So I would have been a lot slower if I hadn't kicked it in at the end. (At least that's what I tell myself!)Happy training days and great races all.Ovetta.

Ran 5 miles in 58.13. In January I barely could do 4 miles in an hour.

swam 1000 yards in 30 minutes- I was drained after the run. Gotta make sure I eat properly to remain fueled up.

Month 2 couch to sprint Week 1- 14 min swim 400 m, 29 minutes stationary bike. Was hoping to go out side and bike but the snow is back and probably wouldn't be a great idea with wet hair.

it was almost a rest day, but hubby came home early and got me off the couch and on to my E-trainer......40 easy minutes. Kept HR down. I think I need a recovery week after all the pounding I did last week. Don't wanna burn out 4 months before tri season starts.

did upper body weights too.

Madmedic, congrats on the pending big day.  Hey, why don't you and your wife-to-be sign up for a tri for the honeymoon?

Swam 3900 yds early a.m.  Ran 6.1 miles.  Glad it's over.  Tomorrow's going to be tough.  3-hour bike scheduled  UGH!

Had a good run after a poor start. I could hardly drag myself down to the gym to get started - then I told myself I would just take it easy - then as I went I felt stronger and stronger!

I ran about 3.5 miles in 32 minutes!

Had an unexpected visitor tonight, which kept me from going to swim - I will have to be sure to go tomorrow!

Day 1 of my 20 Week 3x3 Balanced training! Ran for 16m plus strength training. Tomorrow, swim and bike.

Gearing up for July 17th, my first Sprint race.

Trying to keep HR slower and contain my enthusiasum so I don't overtrain or injure myself.
