Thanks

Got one; like it.

Do a forum search for Kurt Kinetic, Road Machine, KK, or "angry badger" and you will find many threads on it; ranks up there as one of the best fluid trainers.

A great review can be found here: http://www.bikesportmichigan.com/reviews/kurt-kinetic.shtml

 and just for fun:http://bobinthebuff.com/

Got one.  Been riding on it for 3 years.  No problems at all.  Love it.  Very quite.  No leaks.

I've got one and I like it too, no problems and it is quiet enough to use in the evenings when the kids are asleep in the room above the garage (me in the garage not the kids!)

I've just got the computer too so I will let you know how that works when I try it tonight

I have an opportunity buy a "Gently used Spinervals brand kinetic indoor bike trainer. Made by Kurt Kinetics, it's the Road Machine at kurtkinetic.com. This is a fluid kinetics bike system. Comes with training DVDs as well." He wants $200.

Is this a good deal? Should I pounce on it?

Thanks!

I have one and really like it.  I also have the Continental trainer tire which makes it even quieter.

Another thing I like is the big cooling fins keep the resistance unit a little cooler to the touch.  With kids running around the house this was a big deal for me.  My last trainer would get hot enough to burn if you weren't careful.  It's still not cold by any means but at least you get a little warning.

Love mine.  Your husband knows how to buy a good gift.

Regarding the used one, they go for as low as $250 buy-it-now on eBay brand new with free shipping.  They have a lifetime warranty, but check to see if it's transferrable.  The training videos could be nice to have.

$228 new from a reputable dealer here: http://www.bikesportmichigan.com/shop/product.php?productid=16371&cat=0&page=1
