Pre-race routine:

Um, didn't know I was doing this until about two hours before it started. Saw logs for Tammy and DJ and they were wishy washy on whether or not they were gonna do it. I told them they should. Of course that followed with an "I will if you do".
Event warmup:

Run from my car to the registration. Stand inside the Tommy Thompson Center....in the sun.

Comments:

Soooo wanted to see if I could stay with Tammy and Dave, alas they took off through the crowd...no doubt knocking people down to get out of their way:) Lost 'em, so I ran my own run. Sure it was frigid out there and I had four layers on my upper body, two on the lower, but I was quite comfortable. Glad there wasn't much wind to speak of. Actually had to take the gloves off as I was a wee bit too warm. Found mile number 1 and time showed 7:11...whoa Bessy, slow down. I would love to keep that pace but I knew I would die if I did. Slowed a bit and showed 15 and change for mile number 2. Whew, only 1.1 left. Definately need to work with some incline on the tready. There are no hills on this course, but I sure could feel the slight inclines. Wimp. Happy with this run, but sad I didn't PR. I think I may have been a bit too cautious with the ice, better to be safe than sorry.
What would you do differently?:

Lose a few lb's so I can run faster:)
Post race
Warm down:

Water, cookies and a banana before having a beer with the Taminator and DJ. Stood around waiting for medals as we were sure Tammy would place....as she did. Unfortunately they didn't have her chip in the system, but I will let her tell you about that. I took home a little piece of hardware as they give medals to 1-10 in each AG.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Ice.

Event comments:

Seemed to be plenty of nurishment and libations. Lines moved quickly.

Hey, great run, and congrats on the hardware!  I'm not so sure I'd be willing to be outdoors when temps are in the single digits though!
