Hi guys! Happy Wednesday.

So... last night's swim practice about killed me.  I'm not a good swimmer.  About 2/3 of the way through practice, we had to do 4x100s on 2:00 - um, my first 2 100s were right at 2:00, but my last one? Oh, 2:40.  Nice huh?

I'm going to do some yoga tonight.  Run tomorrow - supposed to be in the 60s!

How is everyone today?

That sounds like a very hard swim session. I don't think I can do 4x100 on 2:00. Keep going and I'm sure it will get better.

Jacquigirl - 2009-01-05 8:21 AM also THANKS slugger for organizing this fun challenge.  and thank you for putting me on the same team with my good friend linda starr..we started out the new year hitting the ground running literally. haha and even though she trashed my yoga LOL i still watched the eagles win and advance in the playoffs with her and our other eagles group at our favorite place, we wear the same gear and sit in the same seats and i won the first quarter of the block pool. GO EAGLES.  FLY EAGLES FLY....

Hmmmm...I remember making fun of Philly a challenge or two ago.  It all came back to bite me.  (i'm a Cowboys fan.)   Well, gotta go with the hometown boys over the dreaded Eggles - Go GIANTS.

oh no....there is NOT a Cowboys/Giants fan on this team.....EAGLES WILL CRUSH THE GIANTS!!!!....and, where are the Cowboys now?

Hi Team Persistence....I love the name of this team!

I believe I signed up to do 100 miles running and 12 sessions of strength this month.  Last month was an absolute bust, so this is a definite challenge to get back on track.  I am also doing my first peach challenge and trying to lose some unwanted regained pounds.  So, the entire month requires enormous persistence!....so far, so good!

Happy training everyone!

GO EAGLES!!!

60's? Dang!  It was a balmy 19 with near 0 wind chills here today.  That was a fun run, NOT!

Enjoy your nice weather!!

All I can say is that one of these days, Tony Romo will actually win a playoff game.

Alright, I'd be happy if was just a game in December. I miss the Staubach/Dorsett/Drew Pearson days.

I'm only trying to hit 1/2 of your running goal and that's going to be hard for me! Good for you   And this is also my first peach challenge, and I'm pretty sure that walking to the bar last night doesn't count.

Yeah I tried to count that for a peach square too in November. I figured that, combined with all the 12 oz curls I did should have added up to a workout. It was my only yellow square for the month

i have a yellow square for peach challenge this month also.. it was a carbless day for me on new diet plan.  i think i should get a freebee just for that and  figured walking around food store aisles aimlessly doesn't count either.. i think walking to a bar should definitely count along with the curls... funny.

I did the peach challenge a few times...I found even though I never hit 100% peach it still was excellent as it made me more consistent with my training!

The peach challenges rock although i've only completed one successfully once.  It does make you more conscience of what you do.  I'm taking a ten day vacation otherwise i would have been in January too

Well CHALLENGERS, the first week is done. Did you challenge yourself? Did you encourage a teammate to do a little more? Did you set your goals just a little bit higher? Did you push yourself - within reason - through the stuff that life throws at us? Keep up the awesome work, everyone. Remember, teams are TEAMS, everyone is in it together, for better or worse!

No standings this week. If you are super curious about percentages, look at the spreadsheets yourself. Every team is working hard, and that's what matters. Some interesting notes, though - three of our four teams have at least one person who has already met 50% of at least one of their goals. Some of these are due to tapers, vacations, etc. toward the end of the month. But if you are already over 40% even, take another look at that goal. Can you do more? One more swim? Ten more miles?

Each of our teams also have at least two 0%s. Again, maybe you knew the pool wouldn't be open, or you needed to wait for a doc appt to see if running was on tap. No problem. But if you just haven't gotten to something yet, get it done. Putting it off will only consume your brain and waste your body. Tired? Sure, we all are. Out of time? Who isn't? But once you bust out that workout, you can check it off your to-do list, and free yourself up for that all important summer race schedule daydreaming!

Push yourself. Push your teammates. Embrace the CHALLENGE!
