Run
Comments: I felt good from the start. Pushed the first mile for a 7:30 pace uphill. Re-composed myself on the long downhill (8:01) and prepared to finish strong on the third mile (7:59). Everything felt good. It was a little cold for my liking, but the lack of wind in HR was nice. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I am not in the best shape right now, so this result makes me happy. :) Post race
Warm down: None What limited your ability to perform faster: I haven't been training hard and don't plan to have any breakthroughs this year. Event comments: It's all about fun. :) I can't help but be happy about this performance this early in the season. I have weight to lose (10 lbs at least) and haven't been doing a ton of distance longer than 4 miles. Last updated: 2009-02-01 12:00 AM

Got to the race and just stayed in the rec center to keep warm. Then hung out at the start and talked to a guy who works for USTA. Tried to get an idea of the speed of the field, but knew I need to run my race.
None. For a 5k, I just didn't feel I need much. I had loose legs and felt good.
