Comments: Not the way I hoped today would turn out but I learned a WHOLE LOT What would you do differently?: Spike my heart rate up during my warm up. Not allow others in the pack to edge me toward the back of the pack-I needed to hold my ground a whole lot better than I did. Post race
Warm down: Walking my bike back :( What limited your ability to perform faster: Technical difficulties...I couldn't get into my big chain ring coming off of the hill at the second turn, which is how I initially got dropped off the back. Then I just couldn't seem to catch up, although I did maintain my spacing managing not to lose MORE ground until close to the end. I didn't actually get lapped until the third to last lap. Flat on the second to last lap resulted in DNF. Event comments: I learned a lot that I'll need to know for future crits, and I need to have my bike fixed. This problem plagued me last summer too, and my "bike god" has thrown up his hands in disgust and suggests I find a new crankset, derailler or both (he's not sure which one will fix the problem!) Also told by several people that my seat is too low, so I'll start slowly raising it. I had the bike fit when I bought it and even back then it felt low to me, but I think it's adjusted downward some since then even. Last updated: 2005-03-21 12:00 AM

got there later than I wanted to thanks to a flat on my bike at home. Registered, changed, warmed up, chatted with others
Rode around the parking lot just a little, then got on the trainer and just kept my legs warm. Only tried to really raise my heart rate once or twice
