crazy swim today... probably the worst bottleneck I've been in yet. anyone else get piled up? I know there were probably 5 of us trying to maneuver together for the last 200 meters. Not much you could do about that though with a pool swim I guess.

The swim was pretty congested!! There was some bumping initially but the last couple of laps had less traffic. But that was nothing compared to the bike, where the cop stopped us at Gerault/Lake Side intersection to let traffic through. Probably lost a couple of minutes there and some guy almost crashed in to a car since he didn't slow down in time.

Does anyone know what company was doing the timing? It wasn't Run Far or ChampionChip, but I don't know who it was.

I was pretty lucky on the swim.  They stopped the person in front of me for 30/45 seconds...so after I passed that liar up after the first turn, I had clean water the whole way.  I just dont see how they got the times right with how they were doing it.

I was in one of the groups that got stopped. As I passed the same intersection going out on loop 2 the other cop was stepping out to stop bikes. Back to traffic control school for those two.

There were more than a couple of people in my group that had put down times 40 seconds faster than what DSU had them down for. I heard 3 different girls that said they put down 4:05 but were slotted at 4:45. That made me lucky because they stayed ahead of me for the whole swim. It doesn't speak well for DSU's ability to organize a swim though.

p.s. Thanks Aaron. Hope they post the results soon.

I think it's a new company started by DA just for their races....  we-screw-up-lots.com   or no-attention-to details.com

Had a good race overall.  Lucky to not have been stopped on the bike...I'd have been furious.

Really disappointed in the "chip timing"  What the hell?  12 hours after race start and no results posted.   You'd think after all these years, you'd think DA or DSU or whatever would have their $hit together.  Really a shame these races have such great venues, but are run so poorly.

I wonder if the Caveman Tri used the same timing company as the Texas State/Aquarena Springs Tri.

They seem to post online results at the same speed.

Doesn't look like it, though it's worth noting that they're on the schedule to do the timing for DSU's 'Old College Tri' & Monster as well. Just something to think about.

Looks like A LOT of messed up timing:

281

Scott Meador

212

37

433

55:35.4

0.17min

177

44:48.1

16.1mph

377

36:46.9

11:52/M

1:30:28.0

55 minutes for the damn swim? no T times? No checksum to determine that my time for all events was well over two hours but real time shows 1:30:28? I loved the bike and run course, but this timing crap is ridiculus.

Did you do an iron distance swim to make it fair for the others?

Yea, there's a guy who is currently sitting in 2nd place OVERALL after doing the bike in....21 minutes. Think he might have missed a lap? Oh yea, and in my AG the AG ranks in the run are all completely wrong. This doesn't even take into account the distances being wrong.

/facepalm

It's almost like having a timing mat at the beginning could have been helpful. Wait, what am I saying? That's crazy talk.
