I'm guessing that the BT Alien won't be so prevelant as to mark our meeting location...

Anybody care to volunteer to wear something completely inappropriate so as to mark our meeting location and BT group?  Say hot pink?

1, 2, 3 - not it.

Look for TriOK in a dress.  maybe.  The only thing I own that stands out like a sore thumb is the tech shirt I just picked up for doing the race.  Yell

I will meet coop at 6:15 at his corner and will be wearing a headband that says "i love running, i hate running, i love running, i hate running"

I haven't looked at the maps yet.  I need to be there early for packet pickup.  I'll place some calls when I figure out where I am.

I'm FINALLY starting to get excited about this.  Its been pretty mellow for me up until now.

The corner Kimm and I are "working" is about a block from the expo where you pick up your packet.  Parking Lot C is between Monroe and Mason - the expo is on Mason, so we'll just be on the opposite side of the block.

I'll wear a purple pimp outfit - that inappropriate enough for you J?!!

I can't remember who has my number anymore.  I'm going to be down there around 5:45 or so.  After that I'll be chillin, waitin for my homeys.  Feel free to pm me for my number.

Not sure what I'm wearing.  Likely some tights and a jacket for cold temps.  It doesn't look like it'll be getting very warm while we are out there.

Yeats and I will be there cheering for you guys!! We'll try to meet up in the morning so we know what you all are wearing and we can take lots of pics for you! We'll be there, in non-running, warm clothes, carrying coffee and dragging the pup along.

Goodluck everyone!! My cell is 619-818-1414, if you have any last minute requests, call me in the morning!

It was great to see most of you BTers out there this morning.  Nothing like seeing several friends at the turn-around!

Big thanks to jazzwith#s and yeats for cow-belling us along and snapping photos.

Extra big thanks to coop for the company for 12.9 miles  Laughing

I second that!  Thanks Jazz and Yeats for cheering  us on - that was great - I look forward to seeing the  pics.  For my first ever official race I had an awesome time.  Was great seeing you all out there and being able to meet the infamous Trixie and see the rest of you.

And thank you Kimm for hanging with me - as always, it makes the run a lot more fun.

Hope to see you all out at Kensington soon.

I missed almost everyone.  We got there on time, but I slept in the car for a bit as I had 2 nights in a row with than 4 hours of sleep.  So I got some shut eye and woke up to car doors shutting next to my car.  Whoa 0640 and I had to visit the special blue box of bad smells house.

Sorry that I missed many of you.  Hopefully we meet soon now that the weather is getting better - you know with expected snow and all. *tsk*

Good race today!

Sorry we couldn't meet up before the race...apparently, we thought it would be a good strategy to get there at the last possible second to frantically run to the start and have the gun go off before we were in the chute.  Quite the warmup.

But I'm glad to have seen some folks on the course and then afterwards!

Sorry I missed you Jeremy.  I just stumbled onto Eric, Kim, Matt, and Trixie about 1 minute before race time.  I was still in a daze from the night before and I've been fighting an illness since Thursday evening.  I ran and was a minute or two faster than my 1st and only 1/2 marathon last fall so I'm okay with it.  I was hoping to be under 2 hours, but could barely breathe, so maybe that'll be my goal for the next race.

Eric, Kim, Matt, Trixie it was nice to see you there.  Now I gotta try to get ready for Monday night at Ford Field.  Trixie there are tickets out there, below is an example on Craigslist...lemme know if you really want to go and I'll also check with some folks I know.  My guess though is that all of those have dried up by now.

Our group has Lower Level Seats for Mondays Championship Game in Detroit. Up to 4 seats together (you can buy 1,2,3 or 4 seats together)...some in RS 17 and some in 116.
All seats will provide an excellent view of the action as NC and MSU meet.

call now to see what is available. $250/each. Pick up today in Detroit or pay with PayPal and we will meet later today or tonight or tomorrow.

Call NOW and we can figure out the details.

Hey all...it was really great to get a chance to meet some of you folks!  Hope that everyone had a great day out there!  I finished the full in 4' 18".  My first marathon and I loved it!  Feeling a little hit up right now but really not that bad.

My wife ended up driving out and surprising me by waiting for me at the finishline... what a sweet deal that was!  Again, it was nice to get a chance to meet and chat with you.  Hopefully we'll see every one soon.

And I hope that there's more Cody around!  He was pretty sweet!!!

Nice job to everyone out there today!   I did the half with my dad and had a blast with him!   I forgot to check this board to see if people were meeting up beforehand or else I would have found the spot!

I didn't realize the times they had posted at the race weren't chip times.  I checked my chip time on the MM site and found it was 3 minutes and 37 seconds faster.  Laughing  I was within a minute and 22 seconds of breaking 2 hours.  Next race for sure.  Great job everyone.  I'm packing to go back to Detroit to hopefully cheer the Spartans to another national championship.

Yeah the timing proved to be fatal for my race against a coworker:

349 Klem,Mark             1:48:54.9 1:44:00.7 7:56
385 Hagerman,Jeremy 1:47:44.0 1:45:03.2 8:01

Based on the chip I beat him, but based on the tags he beat me. That also put me down to 385 OA and left him at 349.  Hmm.  What's the point of the chip again?

I still had a good race and had fun.

What a difference a day makes!  So glad the race was yesterday instead of today!  Did anyone else have a problem with the bridges?  It felt like the bridge was moving when I crossed and I felt like I was going to throw up.  The rest of the race was perfect.  I got a PR and so did my daughter (she did the kids' 1.2 mile).

I noticed that on the bridge too.  There were like 4 or 5 of us crossing at the same time and the bouncing really hurt my knees at that point in the race!

Ya, I really didn't like the bridges.  A little like running across a trampoline   If they'd been near the start of the race it probably wouldn't have been so bad, but being at the end with my legs tired, it was pretty bad.

At the first bridge I thought I was losing it.  I thought I was about to pass out or something.  I decided to finish crossing the bridge and then I was going to stop for a bit... thankfully I realized it was the bridge and not me.

A little like running across a trampoline   QUOTE]

That's exactly what it was like!  I was trying to explain that sensation to someone...  I was for sure going to vomit if they would've been any longer.  My husband and his co-worker (bridge/civil engineers who both ran the 1/2) were trying to explain afterwards why it happened...that you could match the frequency of the suspension of the bridge with the flux capacitor blah, blah, blah...
