The "it's not my job" mentality is way too rampant in America today. I see it all day everyday where I work too. Why don't people understand if everybody does a little, then no one has to do it all?
While I agree with you [and with Marv for that matter], there is a back story regarding the laziness of her co-workers that I dare not get into on here, lest I be willing to type incessantly for the remainder of the day.
The short story is: she does do it all, and she asked for a meeting with the three owners of the company [all related to one another] to discuss what's expected of her and she basically got blown off. Nobody at the company wants to accept responsibility for anything, so the "it's not my job" mentality is rampant there. It's just not with my MIL [or, well, it wasn't for 5 years, but has become so in the past few weeks in response to the blatant laziness displayed by her co-workers].
Just thought I needed to defend my MIL a little bit! Carry on. |
