(still have to check the date twice as we write 12/03/04 in europe)

Had an early run this morning. 7.6k (4.75m)

I saw a big bird of prey sitting in a tree just above me, he was checking me out. And two deers walk across my path at about 5 yards distance. WOW I was so amazed that it seemed as the rest of the training was finished in a second. :-)

great day everyone!

I am still using the PC Coach/Mike Pigg training plan. Friday workout will be on the bike. 15 min warm-up keeping my HR under 133, 35 minutes with the heart rate between 133-143 and then another 15 minute warm down period with the heart rate staying below 133 and tapering down.

Off I go. Unfortunately, here in the city of Houston I will see no deer or birds of prey. I usually do get to see a certain German Shephard that gets a kick out of chasing me though that I pass every bike day around mile 5.

Despite forecasts of snow, its a bright sunny day in central Mass. I'm hoping that I'm going to be accepted in the Mt. Washington Road Race, the June 19th annual 7.6 mile hill climb up the road of New England's highest mountain. They pick the entries by lottery and I should know by the 20th of March. Then I'll have to step up the "uphill training" pace considerably. It's not a tri event, but I did this race 20 years ago, and it's time to try it again.

Ahhh...A DAY OFF!
Of work, that is.
Went to the pool through a snowstorm (ugh ugh ugh). Took it relatively easy, focusing on form and stroke count. Did 1200m total.
I thought I would be nearer to the top of the list today! This is an early entry for me.... Oh well, someday when I have insomnia I will get to near the top.
Tomorrow is my precision skating team's show, so I will rest up. Have to wear short skirts and fishnet stockings for costumes! I had better buy black underwear just in case...Yikes!
Have a good day all

Hello Everyone!Woke up slow but picked up speed. Did 11 minutes today on the run! I am really getting into the running groove now! I'm so happy. Did 2 miles overall. Skipped bike and opted for abs, back and chest exercises. 30 min! Whew! Then took a great 800 m swim. Just dusted all the he-men lapping it in the pool! Oh Yeah!. Our city's having a 5K St. Patty's Day Run tomorrow. My spinning instructor has been trying to get me to do it. I'm too intimidated though. But we'll see. I haven't decided yet. 5K just seems like a long way. (This from a girl who's going to have to run one after swimming and biking in just four months!)Have a great training day. Good luck on the race there Kevin! Woo Hoo!

Early morning run for me as well: I did 3.1 miles (my short-long run) on the treadmill starting at 6:30 am. Then, as my cool down I biked for about 8-9 minutes. I think I would have gone ahead and bike more, but I had to get ready for class. Obviously, no wild animals for me to look at--in fact, I think I was one of three people in the gym this morning. That's a lovely thought. I hate working out when it's crowded because you're continually catching people's strange activity in the corner of your eye---and everyone else is catching yours! (hooray for weird ab and gluts exercises!)
I'm going home for the weekend so I think I'll run outside through the fields tomorrow. That could be a very peaceful, serene journey, not to mention padded for my poor road-torn feet!

happy days to all!

Don't let the aches and pains throw you. Get your rest, let your body give you the go ahead. Definitely don't want to mess with foot pain!

BTW, I'll be biking Old Redwood Hwy to Eastside to Wohler to Westside back to Old Redwood (followed by a 5k run) I'll give you a wave... :-)

Hi gang - got to do an early am swim, chest workout and about 40 min swim drills. The fitness center at Pointe South Mountain resort is wonderful. Maybe I can post a photo when I get home next week. Too busy to do the mtn bike thing - but can maybe get a swim tomorrow am.
