Swim
Comments: First off in my lane. Got my feet tapped on the third lane so let the guy through and sat on his legs for the rest of the swim. My lane was nearest the spectators so it was quite strange looking at them all the way down, especially when I passed the massed ranks of friends and family. What would you do differently?: Tactically spot on with getting the tow from the guy that passed me. Very disappointing in only tumble turning on the first length. I would need to practice in a 50m pool more. Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good transition Initially disorientated on leaving the pool on wether to turn left or right. One abortive attempt to put on my right shoe. What would you do differently?: Pay attantion to where my transition area is relative to the pool exit. Maybe talc my shoe's, I don't know everyone else does it. Run
Comments: On leaving the pool I could see John O'Donnell ahead of me and was determined to catch him. Caught him after one and a half laps but this spurred him on. Some parts of the track were quite muddy. What would you do differently?: I'm very happy with my run. Post race
Warm down: Forgot to do any kind of warm done. What limited your ability to perform faster: I got a good tow on the swim and had a target for the run. I reckon I was close to peak performance for both. Event comments: This was the first time this race had been opened up to Seniors. Hopefully we can get more people next time. Less muddy and warmer would also be great. Chuffed to bit's to discover I was swimming in the same heat as the top Scottish ladies triathlete (Kerry Lang). Last updated: 2005-03-28 12:00 AM
