This can't actually be happening, can it?

It would represent a measure of sanity in a time when there hasn't been much to go around.

What do you think, CoJ?

Not surprising since the talk of the gov't covering car warranties came out earlier.

Jim, you should add that the new phone number to file a warranty claim is (202) 456-1414. Just need to ask for the GM/Chrysler warranty czar.

Wow.  So they're going to do what they should have done in the first place?

Seriously...Ford went through this, without the bankruptcy, a few years back when the dropped Mercury and cut a bunch of non-sellers out of their lineup.

GM's going to need to drop GMC, Pontiac, Hummer, Buick (no idea how they were still around anyway), and Saab to go to the plan they talked about years ago.  Saturn, Cheverolet, Cadillac as a good, better, best concept.  Cut out a bunch of dealers, this will make the remaining dealers more profitable.  Stop competing with yourself, and be able to focus on more specific vehicle lines.  Makes sense.

Exactly.

The surprise is that this administration drew any sort of line with a company operating on a model that is obviously working.

I am slightly encouraged.

Whoa wait.... something about this now makes sense?

Huh.
