Was hoping for at least a short bike ride outdoors today. Right now it is raining pretty good so may need to shift that to indoor bike drudge....

Well, here it is......

What a great day! Got off of work at 0700 and then went for a good run. My PB actually! I set out to try to run 3 miles in 40 minutes. I warmed up for the first 5 minutes and then started running. I kept going until the 2 mile mark where I walked for 2 minutes and then set off running again. I was just going to run for 10 minutes and then walk some more, but I just kept running. I cleared the 3 mile mark in less than 32 minutes! And then I walked another half mile for my cool down for the remaining 8 minutes! I never thought I could have done that! Today is the furthest I have ever ran in my life! ;-)

Good goiin' Jack. I read your log and your training looks so good -- I have been suffering de-motivation lately and need someone like you for inspiration!!!

TriBarbie -- I can truly relate to the really bad run syndrome.... those times make me wonder "what am I doing this for?" I am climbing out of that pit and working on that inspiration I need!!!

got in a swim at the Y = first for a while so I'm pleased with the time - 550 yards - 4*100 plus 1x150. no breaks after 50 yards for me anymore - its all finally coming together.

Got in about 28 miles on the bike before crashing when the rider in front fell. I survived with a few scrapes, a sore shoulder and back. Not a good day. Had to miss the 90 minute run.

Beloved rest day while my hubby went out and crashed the bike after 28 miles. He'll be buried in ice packs all day! Don't worry, the bike is fine;-) The run will wait for another day.

Way to go Jay on the run! You rock! REST DAY FOR ME! YEAH,YEAH,YEAH! Although it's so nice outside that I'm thinking of doing a bike ride. But my bike is in shambles. Time to take it in for the fine tuning it needs. Have a great day all. Ovetta.

Nice bike ride outdoors --- YEAH!!!! 55 minutes goes so fast out there -- as opposed to the indoor bike!! This morning's rain dried up and I got in my long bike training day. Yippee...

That's great news Jack. There is nothing better than a good run.
55 minutes on the bike trainer. I am so sick of that trainer that I want to scream...
Going to cut down this week after a few weeks of increasing mileage in general (carefully!!!)

Rode 23 miles with my husband, averaged 15 mph which is ok for now. Ride included some rolling hills and one not-so-rolling hill. After the ride I went to the Y and swam 600 yards (400 straight set and then 2x100)...felt like a slug in the pool after the ride! The weather is beautiful here in the Bay Area, sunny and 80 degrees today! I feel for all of you in colder climates! Hang in there!

Did my first BRick of the season. Felt pretty good (but weird, as always!)

35k ride and 5k run. I'm not really sure how long it took, because I wasn't watching the clock for times. Just wanted to do the distances and enjoy the most gorgeous day around here in a long time. But it took approx. 2 hours.

Wow, just made it in under the wire by a couple minutes! Got up at 3 AM to drive up north, then spent 10 hours hiking up 2 of New Hampshires highest mountains. What a great day, some good alternate training to build the aerobic base. Hope everyone had a fun weekend!
