As of 6:45, she's through 8 miles in 1:45 and right in the middle of the pack running nice and easy.I'll try to update as cell coverage allows. Next aid station is 17 miles.

Dave said she just passed the 18 mile mark about an hour ago.  Her next check point isn't until the 33 mile mark, so he shouldn't  have anything new to report for a while.

He say's the course is pretty rough. There's been a lot of DNF's already.  PJ has fallen a couple times and is a little scratched up.

Go Paulette!!!

Got a text.  She's at 26 miles on 7 hours 30 mins.  She was worried about making the cutoff a little earlier, but sounds better now.

She made it to the 33 mile check point in 9:35. She still had the strength to pick up Alexander!Next check point is mile 44. This stretch will probably take around 4 hours.

Awesome job Paulette!  What a brutal course.
There were a lot of obviously experienced and well conditioned folks who dnf'd far earlier than mile 44.

If anyone wonders how tough this course is, here's a shot taken on one of the easier sections:

Wow, that looks tough. More like hiking than running. Good job, PJ. 44 miles in that terrain (or any!) is awesome. Most of us are done after 4.4 miles...
