Swim
Comments: Caught up to the next group pretty quickly so spent alot of time trying not to swim over other swimmers. Was a pretty good swim, lost my breathe some, but it felt good overall and was definitely my strength. What would you do differently?: Not sure I would do anything different. Transition 1
Comments: They wouldn't let you mount the bike until you were out of the transition area and about 20 yrds down the pavement, there was mulch in the transition area that was painful, so put the shoes on in the transition area. What would you do differently?: Practice more ahead of time. Bike
Comments: Had a hard time with my asthma and saw a lot of people from my age group pass me. What would you do differently?: Practice more. Transition 2
Comments: Didn't take my shoes off until in the transition area. Was one of the first in my age group to have the bike back. On my rack, I was the 3rd back... we were racked by age group. What would you do differently?: Not much. Run
Comments: This was when it started to get really, really hot and humid. Orlando received record highs on this day... by 2pm it was 95 and it wasn't much better at 9am... drank tons of water, but on the run, felt like I could have drank more. Definitely had a hard time catching my breathe. Post race
Warm down: Walked around for a while, water, gatoraide, banana, 10 minute massage, walked some more. Had to walk back 1.5 miles to the hotel. What limited your ability to perform faster: Need more training to get my asthma under control. It's EIA, so the more in shape my cardio, the less of a problem I have. Woke up, took shower, braided hair, ate banana nut clif bar, drank Pibb extra, walked 1.5 miles to the race start from the Wilderness Lodge to Fort Wilderness. drank water, visited port-o-lets about 6 times...
Jumped up and down, stretched, ran in place, not really condusive to warming up... no where to get to the water except the start and there was no where to run nearby that wasn't part of the bike or run course.
