Subject: RE: Bike computer placement? The base of most cyclometers has that halfpipe shape to fit on the handlebar more neatly. Some of them have a rubber base that they sit on, that dampens road vibration and also helps keep the mounting platform from scratching up the bars. Some of them don't (I've got one like that which I put on mrs gearboy's bike, since she doesn't use aerobars ). Check with the LBS if you can mount yours either way, so it can ride on the stem. Or, like I said, get a mounting bracket for the aerobars. Here's a picture to give you an idea of it: As you can see, you put the ring part on the aerobar, and the stem part sticks out just enough to mount the cyclometer. If it's wireless, just set it and be done. If it's wired, then run the wires along the aerobars to the mounting doohickey. |
