Subject: What to do about chafing thighs?
I've started walk/running and my thighs are getting incredibly chafed. I did a super sprint last season, and didn't have any trouble like this. I put bodyglide on before every run, but it seems to be getting worse. Any other suggestions?

Spandex/lycra shorts are key. I don't/can't run w/o them.

I have a pair that say nike on them, but I still have to use vaseline on my thighs to keep from chafing. Uset to have the same problem, but since I made the above change, I don't chafe anymore....unless I forget to put on the vaseline.

You may want to let your legs heal up a little then try the bodyglide again, or maybe vaseline.

Well for running I have a few pairs that I got at Dick's for around 20 bucks a pair. I don't know the brand off hand. I've had them for years and they are still in good shape. I have one pair of Under Armor that I paid about 30 for, but I don't like them quite as much.

Oooh, see, I swear by Under Armour shorts. They are made of great, soft material. I never run without them. Try them out, I think you'll love them. Sports Authority sells them, I know.

Do be careful about what tights you buy. I (stupidly) bought a new pair that was actually causing bleeding by the time I got home. This was a pair for colder weather (maybe that had something to do with it). I haven't had a problem with any other tights. Just check the seam first.

My sister sent me a card related to this. It said "I tried to take up running, but it was a danger to my health. My thighs kept catching on fire." After that one nasty experience, I know exactly what it meant.

Happy running.

Okay, so I got some under armour today, and I'll test it out tomorrow and see how it works. Thanks!
