Hey, welcome back roxy!

Fills up in about a month to six weeks. Still time to register now, in August, not so much.

Looking at last year's thread, it was July 9th before registration was closed.

I'm in; first time to do this race since '05 I think.  The roads are in pretty good shape, they've been doing some patch jobs here and there.

Does anyone know if the swim still ends at the barge where they have to hoist you out while you try to find the ladder?

If you did it in 2005 you probably did it alone, as that was the year of Katrina.

Rusty hasn't mentioned any changes, so I guess the swim exit is still the same.

Good thing I added that to the end of it so I wouldn't look like too much of an then.  Thanks for pointing it out though, I'll be sure and check the results for the exact year.

Looks like it does.

The swim course is 800 meters and is a point-to-point swim.  The swim start is adjacent to the transition area.  You will start at this location swim counter clock-wise and exit the water as we have done in the past (on the barge).

Really looking forward to this one.  Even thought BR is pretty close may get a room at the Days inn so I can sleep in a little.   I am assuming the bike racks are First come, first serve?

IIRC (it's been two years ), the racks have assigned ranges, but position on the rack is FCFS.

Doing a relay as the biker.  Hopefully my legs won't be too smoked from a 42 mile road race on Saturday . . . .
