Subject: Help with stem rise

I am looking to buy my husband a new bike stem for fathers day. He injured his neck (not seriously) over the winter and wants to raise his tri bars higher until he regains flexibility.  My question is how high will these stems raise the bar from where he has them now (he has a 6 degreestem).   1)a 35 degree rise     2)a 120 degree stem  3) a 90 degree stem 4) 17 degree stem       
                    Thank You in advance for your help P.s> His bike is a javelin varese with oval bars that he bought when they were on sale online. I think he needs 1 1/8 steerer with 26mm clamp. (I know the length is 90mm)

There are other adjustable bike stems on the market as well.  I did a search for "adjustable bike stem" and came up witha bunch...

thank you, i see some clamps are listed as 26 mm and some 25.4.  would both fit my husbands bars (oval aluminum 701 i believe?)

No, I'm pretty sure there are difference sized bars, and you need the clamp for the right size. I think the larger one is more of the standard size. I have the smaller size on my girly bars (Deda4Girls. )
