Went to the swim site this morning and it was 1-3ft surf. Kept finding rocks in the water too.

Don't know how you guys did this one last year. After the north shore one I would like a less dangerous swim someday.

Oh well. I makes it more exciting I guess.

I was worried about the same thing last year but it really wasn't too bad.  The rest of the course is great.

It seems like all the race reports mention the horrible swim. Even the lifeguards seemed to be complaining. I would probably do it anyway... but I don't want to tempt fate again before the Tinman. =)

Picked up my race number tonight. Man I hate driving to Boca then back to Waialua during the week. I wish they would have more race day pickups, or even mail it too you. Sorry, didn't mean to vent, but it took me almost 2 hours to get my packet. First time I've ever gotten a packet without any instructions in it. It has 3 numbers (bike, helmet and shirt I assume), some clothes pins and some ood number garbage bag ties. Got a good number though, I'm number 69.

I almost forgot packet pickup...thought it was tomorrow at Boca.  I'm #62.  I guess the thicker number is for the top tube/head tube but weird that it's only one sided.  The t-shirt is nice and a huge improvement from the bright orange one from last year

When I saw the forecast last night that they'd extended the high surf advisory, the first thing I thought was the swim was not going to be fun.

Yea, I actually thought they were gonna cancel the swim. I had to stand up once just to get the water out of my chest. How 'bout that quick draw start! Did anyone hear even a "get set"?

Funny you should mention the start. I turned around and saw the guy with the cannon cover his ears and I said oh crap it's starting. By the time I turned around it went off.
