Subject: RE: Nuun--when do you use it?I used it for all of my long runs last summer, in combination with gels, and it worked great. It's not really fizzy in that it's like drinking soda - not carbonated, and I never gound that it gave me any problems in that regard. It can be used for any length of workout, but it's for electrolyte replacement only, not calories. I don't like sports drink, and the heat really bothers me, and I found that on really bad days, it was more effective than plain water. Since I was getting calories from gels, I wasn't concerned about the lack thereof in Nu'un. Plus, the taste is very light - it's not cloyingly sweet like sports drink. But I agree - once it's flat, it's not as tasty, though it will last about 24 hours in the fridge before it gets gross. |
