Subject: Waiting for my New Tri Bike, What to expect?
I am waiting for my first Tri bike to arrive this weekend (Fuji Aloha). What differences should I expect in speed, hills, turns, confort, etc?  What is the hardest thing to get used to? what is the biggest change? other than riding it more and more, what is the right way to approach the honey moon period to get used to it?

Can't wait to get it

"Differences" are going to depend on what you're coming from. If you're coming from a mountain bike, it's a whole 'nother world. If you're coming from another tri bike, not so much.

Generally speaking, it's the position that you're going to have to adapt to. I just went from one tri bike to another with a more aggressive position, and it took me two weeks of riding nearly every day to get used to it. Used different muscles in legs, back, shoulders, nearly everywhere. The seat also took some time.

Approach: do a little at a time, start with as little as ten miles and add a couple every day. Ride often. and use plenty of lube.

Aerobars? Lot of time in the drops? Either of which will mitigate the shift.

If not, it's going to take some additional time/effort to get used to the twitchiness when you're in the aerobars,

I went from an old Schwinn to a Fuju Aloha a few years ago.  It was my first tri bike.  I could not get used to the end bar shifters and went back to my LBS and had them put STI shifters.  This of course look really stupid on the horns but I liked them.  But the more I rode the more I got used to the aerobars and came to reget getting ride of the end-bar shifters.

It's a good bike and I rode the heck out of it.  You will enjoy it!

Also, the bike is really fast so you bought some speed!  (that was for Bear's benefit)  :-)
