Subject: RE: SOR HIM course info....Well, looking down the forum a few threads offered some info - http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=167576&posts=6&start=1 1). Swim - follows the shoreline, but are out some distance, but there are some kayaking/surfboarding lifeguards inside the buoys. Last year, due to the visibility of the fog and for safety, pulled in the buoys but didn't lengthen the course to accommodate the distance, which allowed persons to jog/walk in chest-high water if they needed to. There was a slight current. 2). Bike - quite flat, IMHO. There maybe a couple of "lopers", but nothing major. There are some "bad" areas of road that are cracked and not fun hitting. Right at the start there is this "climb"/incline, so be ready. You come back down the same way, so the dismount is after the decline. Be ready to slowdown/stop before the dismount. 3). Run - Flat, except within the first 1/4 - 1/2 mile is the steep incline out of the beach and into the residential area. It's an out and back for two laps, so you'll hit that incline twice. A pretty decent race. The weather overall was usually a very warm, sunny day, especially during the run. Stay hydrated. Edited by 1stTimeTri 2009-07-07 9:55 PM
