So I thought I had a race tomorrow but apparently it was today.  Boy do I feel stupid.  Luckily it was not a big deal just close to home but I am out $40 and feel stupid.

Anyone else ever miss a race because you thought it was on a different day?

I missed my 1st 10k.  I had to go to my gf's sorority formal the night before which lasted until 2am.  Then we had to do some post-formal stuff and I think I got to bed around 4am.  I had to get up at 5:30am to get ready because the race was at 6:30am.  I wake up at 6:15am and knew I was screwed.  So I just went back to bed.

It was only $20 entry fee so I didn't really care.  I did the exact same course a month later.  The only thing that sucked is I didn't drink at the formal because of the race when I could have gotten hammered so I could deal with her friends.

I may end up missing a race tommorow.  I have a 31mile bike race that I need to get up around 3:30am for.  But I went kayaking today and busted my shin a craploads of time so it might depend on how bloated up my shin is tommorow morning.  It hurts like hell now.

I've never gotten the day mixed up, that's just silly!  I have, though, overslept for my first race this year.  Also dumb but whatever.

I once thought a race started at 8am, but it really started at 7:30.  I showed up at about 7:50 and didn't bother to do the race.  And yeah, I felt pretty dumb.

I was fixin to do my first 5k back in March.  I could had sworn it was on a Sunday as most of the clubs runs are on Sundays.  Nope it was Saturday I literally got up got dressed get myself all ready drove there only to see nothing.  I was confused, came home looked online and saw the race was Saturday. so your not alone.

At least you found out yesterday before showing up all by yourself today.  That would be hard to live down if anybody saw you.

Never missed one but once drove 2 hrs to a race site the night before a race and as I was unloading my bike from the back of my Yukon I realized I'd left my front wheel at home!  Talk about feeling stupid!

If you seized the moment and wheelied the bike the whole way you'd be a legend.

I thought a race started a 7:30 once when it actually started at 7:00. I was out warming up when I heard the gun go off!

Woops.

The first kids triathlon my kids were going to do I got the date mixed up and they missed it. There are not that many kid triathlons in our area so it wasn't as if we could do one the next weekend. We had many tears for a few weeks. Still now 5 years later they give me crap but in a much lighter way sort of a family joke. I would have much preferred I missed mine than theirs.

I haven't missed one yet.  Did one last year on about 2 hours sleep, when I had a big get-together with a bunch of old friends from HS to celebrate a favorite teacher's retirement after 25 years; left "early" from the celebrations at around 2 AM, for a 2 hour drive home, then got up early to drive an hour to the race.

I have accidently entered a race - I was running this past spring, and saw a bunch of signs and volunteers.  Halfway out in my run, I encountered a 5K that had just started (I could tell by the tight grouping of the runners).  So I joined them until they went past my house.  I thought about finishing with them, but it didn't seem right. Especially since I had already done 4 miles!

I just about did yesterday. I was planning on racing the sprint which started at 8AM and so I thought I was fine getting there at 6:30AM. It wasn't until 15 minutes later when I picked up my chip that I found out that I was signed up for the Olympic which started in 15 minutes. Yikes! I had 15 minutes to get body marked, go to the bathroom, get my bike into transition, set up transition, wiggle into my wetsuit and get into the water in time for the gun to go off! Whew! I made it just in time!

20 plus years ago I had signed up for a 5K in DC.  Think it might have been Cherry Blossom. Any way it was over the weekend  of the time change so  I forgot to switch my clocks and missed the start.  Went in to DC and hung out anyway.
