I've totally fallen off my training plan the past week.   I have an Olympic in 2 weeks and I just don't know what my problem is.  I've had a few days of not feeling great, but by no means sick as a dog, and I just have lost most (not ALL, thankfully) of my motivation to train.   What is up with me????????   I have the Army 10 miler and a marathon coming up, and all I care about is running.   Getting on my bike takes an act of Congress these days.  Anyone else get like that right before a big race?

YES

You are NOT alone.  Every training plan so far, I've been a couple weeks from a race last high volume week or so, and I start burning out some.  Lost motivation can be regained though!  Get out there and get on/in it, will keep the "I suck" demons at bay!

Come out tonight for the Team TPR Group ride.  Call Brian for the starting point and time.

I can't, Mike.   Hubby never gets home in time on Mondays for me to make the group ride.  I'll get to the pool today, however.

Haven't been feeling the best for the last few weeks, ran a 5K with a sinus problem and an ear that wouldn't unpop.  Got up the other morning with a slight fever and still went out and did my run since it was my "run" day.  I can sympathize with not feeling like doing anything.  For me keeping in mind what my goals are helps me keep going.  I know if I start slacking on areas I'm doing good it just goes away.  I envision my fitness as a glass full of water with a pin hole in the bottom.  Putting in the work fills the glass up, but if I let it sit too long, that glass is going to empty.  My primary reason for doing triathlons, to give my workouts something tangible to work for aside from being healthy, hopefully living a longer more fullfilling life, etc.

I suppose if I had a marathon and 10 mile event coming up running would be on my mind as well.
Good luck with those and getting back into your biking and swimming.

No excuses?   No childcare.   You remember those days.

Since the past few days have been way lighter than they should have been, I'm now not sure how much to actually taper next week.    Suggestions?  (I'm doing the New Jersey State Olympic on the 26th.
