All right, I was impatient so I started yesterday!  How was X2 Core for you?

X2 Core - didn't think this was too bad at all.  I'll have to work on the burpee/push up on the med ball and I use a stability ball that is not weighted - which is harder to keep in place.  The weighted bal. balls stay in place better.  I may go get a weighted ball to add to my arsenal.

Plyocide - did this today and it was challenging but nothing harder than Insanity - and it's SHORT!  5 sets of 4 moves each with no repeat.  Moves are longer (sometimes as much as 1 minute) and breaks are longer too (than plyo X)  Moves are more complex and multifaceted, I like that.  It seemed like a little Plyo X combined with Insanity and Legs & Back moves!

I'm loving  the new warm up and cool down/stretch.  MUCH better!  ESPECIALLY like the myofacial release with the foam roller.  So glad this was incorporated into the program.

Tomorrow is stretch/recovery (plus a power bike ride) and the next day it's "total body".  I'm even excited about doing only ONE HOUR of YOGA.  Yay!

More later - keep it up!

What's the deal with V-Sculpt and Chest+Shoulders+Tris Dvd's missing, I would rather have those instead of the two one on one free Dvd's. Is this a penalty from pre ordering?

Im starting 12/19, just got my program today.

Those are bonus workouts that can be purchased at the website.  The slot is there in case you order the bonus workouts - so you can have a place for them.  They're $59.85.  That seems really high to me.  I will say I ordered the Insanity bonus workouts and loved them. (That was 3 workouts for less $$$.)

Here's the info (not sure if this link will work or not cause I'm logged in at teambeachbody.com): https://extranet.securefreedom.com/MillionDollarBody/csShopping/ShoppingCart_Detail.asp?PriceID=297489&Cat=Fitness Program|P90X2&Qty=1

Don't ask me why they don't do the same for the bonus workouts (give you a DVD slot for them).  That would make too much sense.

EDIT: Had to fix that last sentence - it was confusing.  I was referring to the free workouts that came with the purchase not the paid for bonus workouts...

It's not a penalty for pre-ordering - those OneOnOne's won't be included in future Base Kits, so those really are "bonus" workouts. I do think the price on the extra workouts are crazy - $60 for 2 DVD's is a bit absurd, even if they are amazing, unless there are multiple workouts on each DVD (which I don't think is the case).

I'd hold off and see if the price comes down. Then order through your usual account so you get your usual coach. She rocks.

I STILL haven't received my set, although I can't for the life of me remember when I ordered, so I don't know where I am on the shipping list..... It's killing me to read the reviews from folks who are already getting theirs!

I can't stand the one on one workoouts.  There's just way way way too much talking going on.  I'll sell mine to anyone that wants them.

Do you have a lot of the OoO's Andi? I have all of Vol 3, and a good chunk of Vol 2. Some I like, others I don't, many I haven't even tried. I'm likely going to start using them at events as give-aways, although I worry they may turn people off if they don't know anything else from Tony!

I used a few from volume 3 (and have most), like one on one plyocide, and OMG just so so much talking.  It's the one where Tony has the black eye.  I couldn't believe how wasted he was after some of the moves, too.  Hubby & I were doing Insanity moves while he talked and we waited for the next move.  The other one I tried that I remember was Fountain of Youth yoga.  Not as much talking but too much for yoga.  He does more talking than cueing and when you're doing yoga that's difficult.  You really rely on cueing because you aren't looking at the screen.   I also did the one one one MC2 yoga and same thing - lots of talking with little cueing but it was better.  It's actually much harder than what ended up in the final P90X2 yoga.  P90X2 yoga is easier than P90X yoga IMO.  There were a few others but it's been so long I can't remember which ones.

But, like you, I have considered using them as giveaways in some capacity to customers I already have!   For instance, I may do a drawing from the ones that ordered P90X2 or P90X in the last year.

Ok I did P90X1 started Dec 1 after IMFL 2010 did one 90 cycle then did the P90/Tri hybrid from the news letter on BB.cm site for another 90 days lost 20lbs so then I raced all summer. It was great won a 5k, 4th over all in a small sprint, finished high in all but a few races also had very few injuries while racing, something I hadn't been able to do in 15 years. I took a month break after race season ended at the Chicago Oyl. tri  and I have been doing a classic cycle using CTS bike progressive power DVD's 2 times a week in place of plyo, cardio and or kempo workouts, I was in week 7 and strained my calf running a week ago. I ask for P90X2 for Xmass and it came in the mail today and I think I will do one more week of classic calf permitting then start it P90X2 Jan 1.  I will post some of my results along the way, I'm really pumped to get the new one started ready for something new. I plan to keep a small amout of tri training going on the side this time 1-2X hr bike ,1X30 min.swim,   1X30min. run workouts a week.    Hey it worked last year with no tri training for the first 90 days this may go even be better.

I find that s/b/r is easier to maintain with P90X2 than P90X.   (In the foundation - or first phase - anyway.)  It's less about sheer reps and failure and more about form and just being able to do it.  It's hard but in a different way.  Plyocide isn't nearly as draining as plyoX and it's a total body workout.

I highly recommend getting that calve muscle massaged (deep sports) a couple times.  It can take a while for calves to heal but a massage will definitely speed the progress.  I know - I've torn mine twice and strained it at least that many times.

Andi thanks, this is like calf pull # 100 for me I agree on the massage I've been working it with a stick, roller and release ball usally takes me a few weeks to get over it some times longer.

sabb8 - 2011-12-28 3:03 PM I just got P90X2 and can't wait to try it!

CONGRATS!!  Just one word of caution from someone who's done all the workouts - please be careful with the med ball.  You'll do plyo push ups on and off of it and my hubby injured his wrist when it moved. If you get overly fatigued, remove the ball and keep going (modifed) to be safe.

I think the workouts are great.

Two new toys I love: the rumble roller (hubby got it for me for xmas) and the pull up assist, which you can get (either/both) at BB or on amazon for about $70 and $35 respectively (pull up assist instead of the chair for pull ups w/ the assist).  Even if you can do pull ups it is AWESOME to help you get that extra edge.

Good luck and post your workouts here!

Excellent!  (I figured you knew but had to mention just in case).

Also, in case you haven't seen it, there's a new roller called a "rumble roller" (do internet search - it's pretty new).  A whole new level of rolling that's helped my calves/upper achilles unbelievably.

P90X-2 looks pretty cool from what I can see, a lot of core strength and stability stuff ( which I am lacking right now )  I tried a TRX class friday and have been laid up all weekend as a result.

I'm starting P90-X tomorrow ( again ).  I was doing it before my accident, and now feel I can move from the weight machines to free weight exercise.  ( Physiotherapist recommended using machines first, broken collarbone caused a sloppy shoulder due to the slightly altered shape and muscle weakness, was popping out easy for a bit )

Can't wait to get back into it, and might hop into p90x-2 after this round if you all seem to like it!

I haven't read the entire thread but do y'all recommend starting with the P90X then go to P90X2 or doesn't it really matter.  In other words, does the second build on the first or are they independent?  I'm looking for weight loss and strength training over winter.

I am finishing up week six doing P90X2 and feel stronger than ever, however I wasn't before starting. I dont feel the need to do regular P90x before starting. I started after a full season bike racing and not much strength going into it, the whole progression in Phase 1 got me back into it, phase 2 is helping add overall strength while I continue to work my core and I have 2 more weeks and Ill move on to phase 3. Some of the moves are difficult without a doubt, but Im finding that the challenge to master the moves is fun. There is more than enough recovery and yoga planned days, Im starting to try to find ways to make the workouts more difficult.

Oh, I'm SO glad to hear it!!! I'm finishing week 2 of Phase 1 of X2 and just started my Half-Ironman training.. Cycling is my weakest link.. that coupled with a very eventful first HIM at Racine last year (read my RR if you want an entertainment for the evening) has me determined to spend as much time in the saddle as I possibly can, so knowing that X2 will help with cycling speed and power is very reassuring!!!!

P90X2 is definitely for real.  It's geared for athletic performance whereas the original p90x was geared toward more traditional strength training.  I've never been this strong core-wise in my life, and the final phase is an absolute monster.  I'm pretty excited to see what gains I've made when I hit the bike again this week.
