k_hase - 2009-07-27 3:40 PM I believe that guy that Bob stopped to help is a guy named Travis (we have mutual friends). He broke his collarbone and has a concussion, but will be okay. Other than the heartbreak of the DNF of course. His girlfriend finished; she didn't know until she was on the second loop of the run and even then our coach debated telling her until she was finished. Thanks Bob!

I am glad to hear that he is okay. I believe Travis should write a letter to the helmet manufacturer thanking him for his life. That helmet was crushed! I pray that he has a full recovery and gets back there to finish the job.

No worries about the DNF, even Macca and Stadler have had their DNF's!

BTW - Thanks for all of the kind words but I am pretty certain anyone reading about this would do the same thing. I am not sure if I happen to be in the right place at the right time or that my presence in the area is causing the crashes. Anyone wanna go for a ride?

I should thank you for being there to scrape my face off the pavement. Oh, that's right ..... the birds got the piece of my cheek the surgeon was looking for.

I'd rather not see the pavement that close up again thank you.

Thanks for being such a class act.  Your talent is amazing but pales in comparison to your class and compassion.
