Subject: Turned Ankle

Took my family up to Voyageurs National Park for a canoe trip this week.  One day into the trip, I promptly rolled my ankle.  First thing I thought, "Damn, this is going to really suck for my training... which already sucks this summer."  Fortunately, it's not a bad sprain.  There isn't much swelling and I'm walking around fine.  Haven't tried running yet.  We'll see how that goes once I'm back in the Cities.  Eeesh.  What else can happen this season?

Just coming off a similar injury.  Ice and Elevate it, and I wrapped mine to make sure it kept the swelling down.  I have Waseca this weekend and hope it will be almost 100% I am more worried about the impact on my marathon training, but will be able to wing it I suppose and have some time before then.

Solid advice.

Aside from wrapping it for a day, that is about what I did for treatment.  Took a day trip to this cool old hotel and restaurant way up on the lake and had a beer and a whiskey.  Shared a whiskey with my brother-in-law last night too. 

Swelling is almost gone.  I'll go for an easy run in the next day or two to see how it goes.  I think things might be ok.
