Swim
Comments: Overall swim time was good but it didn't feel good until after the 2nd buoy. I wasn't fast enough to be at the front of the lead pack and not slow enough to be behind. I was stuck in the middle of a big pack and ended up having to stop and wait for them to go ahead. I actually had to roll over on my back twice before the first buoy. I swam most of the leg with my head out of the water because I couldn't get a breathing rhythm down. Also, couldn't see the 2nd buoy, had to just follow the pack. What would you do differently?: Stay on the outside behind the lead pack, get an early breathing pattern going and stick with it. Transition 1
Comments: T1 was fine, no major issues, nothing to write home about. Bike
Comments: Time was equal to if not slightly less than previous best. I felt great on the uphills and the downhills. No braking on the downhills, maxed out at 38 mph! Felt very strong the whole way. Transition 2
Comments: No problems, pretty smooth. Run
Comments: Dan Beebee trail run that we've run a million times. Made it up the hill without walking, very slowly but not walking. Felt pretty good the whole, never felt that I needed to walk. I had hoped to have a faster time but my run is my run and that's weakest link. Overall it was an okay run. What would you do differently?: Run Faster Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: My only limiting factor is my own running ability. I don't run fast, period. Although I am trying to improve my speed, it doesn't come naturally. That being the case, I will take advantage of my other strengths to compensate for my weaknesses. Last updated: 2005-05-08 12:00 AM

We set up a booth for the store so it was a very busy morning. Anxiety was a little high but things went smoothly. Got there at 6:15, set up the booth then proceeded to set up transition with plenty of time to spare.
Quick swim in the lake, heart rate was high all morning
