Subject: RE: Short Course / Long Course novas - 2009-08-11 11:21 PM from what our tri club guy says, "short course" refers to olympic distance and shorter, with "long course" being anything over olympic.
for example, in two weeks i'm doing a "long course" that's not quite a half IM. 1 mile swim / 34 mile bike / 10 mile run.
i could be wrong about the terminology, but that's what i've been told. Yeah there's a gray area there between Oly's and HIM. SommerSports has a series that's 2k S, 60k B, 15k R . When they run it with a Sprint it's a Long Course, when with a IM it's a Short Course! I personally refer it as a long course (47.8 ), it was a 4:20 race for me. |
