Triathletes 4 weeks before the ironman!
That's right, tonight I was out on one of my routine nighttime training rides. No big deal...the arboretum's quite dark but nobody else is silly enough to be there so I can ride on "instinct." Until tonight. I saw about a half dozen people running through there in the middle of the night--well, I saw them when I was about to hit them The workouts must be gettin' long!

`Chicago lakefront trail a week before the Chicago Tri.' Or worse ... `The Chicago Lakefront during Chicago Marathon training.' Literally groups of 200-400 people taking up the whole trail during the only time I can get in a ride -- at 5a to 7a.
You know the Chicago Tri (or IMMOO) is close when you go to the designated tri beach for a swim and you have to hustle to beat the droves of people wading into the water.

...when you're flying downhill at 38mph, come upon two turkeys that wander into the road from the tall weeds, swerve to avoid them and one decides to fly into your swerve.
Luckily I only got a taste of feather.
Oh, I think I missed the point of the thread. Okay, well... it's a metaphor then!
