Pre-race routine:

Sam and I drove up to Church Creek Satruday around 8:00am, stopped at a gas station close to the race to pick up some water for the bottles.

Funny conversation before the race, talking to the juniors next to me from my team they suggested I head over about 30 minutes before my start time. The Seniors asked why I was still hanging out in the parking lot with an hour left before my start time. Different perspectives I guess.
Event warmup:

Rode 5 miles on the trainer sweating my a$$ off then rode the 5 miles down to the start line.

Comments:

Plan was not to start off too hard, did that, hung out around 25mph for what seemed like the first 20k, then things started to go down hill.

Just didn't seem to be able to produce the right amount of watts, was really spinning, 93 average cadence is pretty high for me, seemed like 1/2 the time I looked at my PT my cadence was 95 - 100, never felt comfortable pushing it more, for lower cadence and more watts to get the speed I needed.

Other than a few corners no reason on that course to ever get out of aero. Butt started hurting around 25k in and was painful for quite a bit, not sure what is up with that.

Thinking that I have been doing too much running and not enough time on the bike to get the time that I wanted. Thought I was around 1:04 which I would have been very happy with but ended up 1:07...

MAX WATTS: 540 (probably right on the start line or finish)
AVG WATTS: 209

Disapointing since my avg watts from NJ TT was 233.

What would you do differently?:

Less running and more biking but not happenin right now with getting ready for MCM. Need to be able to hold appropriate watts for the full race not just the first 1/2.
Post race
Warm down:

Rode the 5 miles back to the school, went to the BB and relaxed.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Too much running, not enough time on the bike.

Event comments:

Fun TT, want to go sub 1 hr next year...

For some reason doing a TT race sounds so intimidating to me.  Way to go.  Especially after everyone being sick at your crib.  Hope you are feeling better.

Nice job!  A TT is really scary to me, so I'm always impressed with the people who do them.  And you're really fast.
