Run
Comments: My stomach was feeling a bit sloshy during warm ups, but I luckily didn't notice it much when we started the run. I was told to run this 10k as fast as I could, don't worry about time, but make sure you leave it all out there. And I have to say, I left it all out there. I don't think I could have gone much faster. I did have a bit of side cramps from mile 2 until the end, but my deep breathing technique seemed to reduce it to where it didn't affect my pace too much. What would you do differently?: Figure out a better way to breathe when/or before I hit that threshold, because I think that is when I always get the side cramps. Post race
Warm down: Jogged back to the car for my Endurox R4. I love that stuff! Stretched a little and walked back to get a few snacks. Event comments: I would like to do this race in the future and enter the contest to guess my time. I would not have been close this year as this was almost a 2 minute PR! Fun Race! Toast with peanut butter and a hot tea.
Few sips of water on the drive across the bridge.
Stomach was feeling that nervous, pre-race jitters sort of way.
Some light jogging, skipping, high knees walking and stretching. Stomach felt a bit sloshy.
I was sad not to be entering the contest and guessing my time, but the whole reason for deciding to do this run was to get HR data. I was feeling a bit nervous, since we just decided to do this race as of late yesterday afternoon!
