After sharing a nice day yesterday, we lost our Scoob last night.

Last night, he gave us one last laugh by using some of his last remaining strength to hop up on his favorite couch one last time when I left the room for just a moment. He also wagged his tail heartily whenever he knew we were talking about him.

As you guys know, Scoob was my best friend and training buddy. He just also happened to be a dog. Simple as that. I will miss him with all my heart. We were truly blessed to have had Scoob as part of our family for more than eight years and we will treasure all the wonderful memories we have of him.

Folks, thank you so much for all the support and kind words you have shared over these past few weeks. You helped make one of the toughest periods in my life a little easier. It has meant a lot, so thanks.

Obviously, I will be racing IMMOO as a tribute to Scoob-- I know he'll be there running alongside me anyways. If you care to join me in honoring his memory, whenever you see me out on the course, please give us both a shout-out with a good deep bark... or may be an "EAWW---FFFFFF!" A half-donkey, half-dog-- he'd get a kick out of that.

Oh, and one last thing. The name stays. I am, and always will be, Scooby's Dad.

Thanks again.

Rich

Rich,

Pets are wonderful gifts to be treasured and loved. Obviously this was the case with Scooby. The inspiration you will get during the tough periods of IMMOO will amaze you. Your legs will feel fresher and you will get through the rough spots. Condolences to your family. Hopefully your wife and kids are hanging in there too.

When I see you out on the course on the 13th, you will get a very loud bark from me!

Now go do Scooby proud!!!

So, So sorry Rich - having just lost a pet in December, I know exactly where you're coming from.  Scooby will never be far from you during your runs, walks, family and just lazing around.  His spirit lives with you and your family.  He must have been truly special to have made such an impact.  I'm sure your wife and kids are just as devastated, please give them my best as well.  Thinking of you.  And the name must stay!

Tracy
