My daughter is headed up to the USAT National Training Center in Clermont for a Time Trial and Clinic tomorrow. She heads home for a duathlon on Sunday. It has been four weeks since her last race and she is really itching to go! She is hoping to do well on her run legs. Her goal is to have her second run be within 10% of her first run. She is well rested and ready to rock & roll. Anybody else have big plans for the weekend?

Knock 'em out, Herdaughter! Make sure you post and let us know the scoop.

Racing???!!! Not yet!! In this neck of the woods, I am going out tomorrow on my first outdoor ride since October!! It will probably be as strenuous as a race, after months on the trainer.

I'm not doing a race, but I'm doing my very first complete run-through tomorrow. It will be somewhat watered down b/c I'm going through it with my training partner and we have to do the swim, change, then drive back to my house to finish with the ride and run. But I'm only about a mile from the pool, so the times won't be too awfully skewed.

Good luck to all who are doing a race.

Good luck Herdaughter! Let us know the results. It supposed to be a wash out here all weekend, I may try to squeeze in some bike/run time and work it around my weight training at the club. Also I gotta get out and look for a bike rack for the car...my first race is in 2 weeks.

My sister law,Katie, lives with my wife and I. She is developementally disabled. She started to come to the pool with me when I first started training. She swims pretty good and I asked her if she was ever in the special olympics. She never has been but said she would like to. So we got her into a team that was training. Her meet was today. She won 2 gold medals in the 25 free and 25 back and got 4th in a relay. I am so proud of her and the rest of her team. They all did great. Next on her agenda is basketball.

Awesome job, Kevin. Tell Katie she has a whole new fan club.

Hermom, I was, once again, pondering the du tomorrow, but I'm not sure. We've been away on vacation this week and I did a kind of long workout this a.m. I'll talk to my hubby tonight. You know I hate to rush into these racing decisions so quickly;-)! I'm sure I'll know by 7a.m. tomorrow!

That is so awesome! Give Katie a big hug and tell her we are so happy for her. I have worked with Special Olympics on and off over the years and it is most rewarding. I urge everyone to give it a try sometime. It is an experience you will never forget!

I did the Carlsbad 5000 today. I had a great time and definately will want to do it again next year.
See my race report for details.

God Bless,
