Where is Nancy Drew when you need her?

This is a bit of an oddity. I posted about it on my own blog a while back but thought I would share it here too.
Over the past few months I have been getting ready for a marathon next weekend. Along my regular route - an area below an over pass I go through every day I run - I saw a green marble.

I thought nothing of the green marble for a long time it was just a regular part of my run. I always looked for it. Then one day on the way home I picked it up and decided to keep it as a reminder of all the training I have been putting in.

The next day on my run there was another green marble exactly where the first one had been. Again I left it for a day or two refusing to pick it up - I had mine - when it was joined by yet another marble. Now there were two green marbles. I could not resist and retrieved them both.

On my next run sure enough another green marble was in the exact same place as the previous three. On the way back I took that one too making for a total for four. My very next run there was of course another marble in the exact same place under the over pass and once again I picked up the marble.

I wrote about all of this in my blog and then on my next run - no marble. There have been no more marbles on my route. I don't know why they were there in the first place but it certainly added some mystery to my runs.
