I ordered a zoot ultra trisuit and i wore it once during my last olympic.  Now i have one big tear in the back, and one tear on the back of the thigh.  During the race i was having trouble on the bike...  God has blessed me with ginormous thighs, and the suit was so tight on my thighs that instead of stretching at the inner thigh, it started to pinch the skin.  I noticed this same exact problem with zoot tri shorts i recently bought as well.

I measured myself, and i am infact a medium....  But i guess zoot designs  their suits for skinny europeans???

Anyone else have these issues??

That sucks about your suit. I have a pair of zoot tri shorts that I've been training and racing in for a couple months now and they're still in great shape.

I just bought a pair of zoot shorts.

I tried on the medium, and they were too tight.  Large fits me great.

I just checked their website, and it says that I should be wearing the medium.

I have a Zoot suit and I have giunenormous  (spellchecker is saying that's not a word?) thighs and thus the leggripper is a bit loose, so it sounds like their sizing might be normal. The Zoot stuff I have has worn quite well so far.

Have a few martinis, shave off some of your extra quadage, and fire it off USPS to me and then we'll both fit our suits better.

I to have been blessed with ginormous thighs, and I almost always have to buy a bigger size so that the shorts don't cut off circulation to my feet. I too am supposed to wear a medium, but larges still fit fine. Thank god for draw strings! I don't think anyone makes shorts for people with over sized legs. I too am supposed to wear a medium, but larges still fit fine.

Thats so weird!  Everything else i have is a medium and fits me perfectly fine.  3 pairs of medium aevero tri shorts (that actually fits me a bit loose now, i may go with a small if i order more), 1 pair of tri shorts (fits fine, has a drawstring but i don't need it), and 1 pair of zoot tri shorts.

In addition to those shorts, i have 1 zoot ultra trisuit and 1 ironman brand trisuit.  I plan on wearing the ironman suit in the U.S. open next week.

The first time i put on the zoot suit, i loved how it fit tight around my body, and how there was no "extra space" in the undercarriage that could get caught on the nose of my saddle. But unfortunately..... my thighs are too big.....

You can see the tear in the upper back.  I'm in T1 right now, which means it must have happened during the swim.

I wonder if the back of the suit was caught up in the zipper of your wetsuit when you zipped in? Just a thought.

Good thinking.... But i didn't wear a wetsuit.  The race wasn't wetsuit legal.

Have you tried contacting Zoot about the issue?

And thus it may be a fake.  I have a Zoot trisuit and I've not had any problems with it either.

How frustrating. Did anyone climb up your back in the middle of the swim? I'm wondering if you have been bitten by someone's watch or medical alert bracelet or the like.

I thought of that because I collided with a friend of mine on our mountainbikes a while back and the pin on the buckle of her watch (I kid you not) caught me on the thigh and ripped my bike pants.

Just a thought. I hope you get it resolved. Noone has spare money to buy stuff and then have it be faulty. Good luck.

Don't happen to have ginormous thighs myself, but I wear Zoot tri shorts (and tops) and haven't found them to fit or be sized particularly differently from other brands I've either worn or tried on.  Also haven't seen any issues with construction...I've worn the heck out of my first pair...still train in them after more than two years.

You can't trust size charts much, in my experience.  I rarely buy tri apparel online for just that reason.  One of the few times I broke that rule was for a wetsuit (Xterra, not Zoot)...and I ended up having to send it back for the next larger size, even though I was absolutely in the middle of their "medium" range in their size chart.  No question it was too small for me.
